Daily at The Park lobby Video Art Show CINEMA VERITE (20mins) The 20 minute looped film explores the space that cinema occupies in Indian society and its effect on the psyche. Filmed by VIRAJ SINGH and GOVIND KUMAR, the visuals for the work are from popular cinema past and present - including song and dance sequences as well as dramatic portions. Images from film sets, and every-day street life are juxtaposed with a team of actors who essay the hypnotic impact of films on daily lives. VIRAJ SINGHs
primary focus is cinematography and documentary work as well as commercial
cinema. He has worked on documentary films in India, America and Thailand.
His last film on the dangers of pesticides in Kerala is being distributed
by Greenpeace. He has also made films about the Gujarat earthquake and
the Kumbhamela. GOVIND KUMAR
has trained in computer graphics in Australia and Canada and primarily
works as a visual effects supervisor for films. His stint with films includes
both Hindi and regional cinema
