    JAYESPRI MOOPEN(South Africa), the Artistic Director of the TRIBHANGI DANCE THEATRE, has earned a reputation of pushing boundaries and challenging notions of Indian dance.  Her pioneering efforts of juxtaposing and synthesising Indian dance with African dance and music has won her many accolades in South Africa.   

    “Essence of Rhythm” (Articulation The Unspoken) explores Africanism by securing some form of entrenched African content either in terms of its theme, design or movement component.  Movement is explored to create a dance that reflects our similarities whether in praise of Mother Earth or imploring the Rain, to making a new beginning, a reawakening or a realisation.
